Early Childhood.
Foil balloon which was bought for me on the day I was born and has remained inflated for 18years. Through some research I found that the balloon should have deflated after several weeks which it hasn't. Most babies born in Jessops hospital, Sheffield in 1993 have probably got the same balloon, quite a few of my friends have the same inflated balloon.
Early Teenage.
My early teenage years from the age 14-15 conasisted of my punk/emo phase and involved me dying parts of my hair blue/green/red within that year and aquiring a scaffollding piercing. Looking back I think it was more about me finding my own identity and drastically breaking away from the "chav" stereotype which plagued my secondary school. Now I think I've found who I am as a person and that I don't need to conform to any stereotype, I still listen to the same genres of music as I once did, I've aquired a number of piercings but only because I like them and wear clothes that I like and not because I think I have to.
Late Teenage.
My birthday is in August and all my friends turned 18 before I did, and without I.D I wouldn't be able to go out and celebrate with them. Luckily, I had a friend who worked in a nightclub who sold I.D's that hadn't been collected from the club's lost property box for £15 but because we were friends I got mine for £5. For a whole year I successfully used this I.D (which looked nothing like me). Since I've turned 18 I've had no need of this I.D and don't know anybody who does, so I plan on posting back to its original owner with a note saying 'Thanks for a great year!'
Present.
I think that my current job working on a CD/DVD stall is an accurate representation of my life so far. I enjoy my job, I work there every Saturday, it doesn't involve much, I just play music of my choice all day and sell the merchaindise but I've made really good friends with other neighbouring stall owners and workers and there's always a really relaxed happy atmosphere. Working and earning my own wage is a sign of independence, responsibility and maturity and I always get a feeling of satisfaction from buying and paying for my own possessions.
